eg.It was a foregone conclusion that he would take over the business after his father retired

6. to blame: to say or think that a person or thing is responsible for something bad that has happened

  • I think the stock market is to blame
  • Don’t blame me for your problems = Don’t blame your problem on me
  • (n) blame: I took the blame (for the defeat) = the coach said he was responsible for the defeat
